The 14th Regatta

BAVARIA CUP – 2020 (2021)

Biograd-na-Moru, Croatia





Races will be organized by Sailing Club MANDE, Croatia;  Bavaria Yachts Ltd, Russia; Bavaria Yachts d.o.o., Montenegro; Jedriti svijetom d.o.o., Croatia; Pitter Gesellschaft m.b.H., Austria under the supervision of the Croatian Sailing Federation. 



The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS 2021-2024), International navigation rules, The Notice of Race, Sailing instruction



Boats shall display stickers and flags with the sponsor logo supplied by the Organizing Authority. Flags

shall be flying during the mooring in the harbor. Crews are allowed to display stickers and flags with their individual sponsor logo. 



Each crew shall send an application letter in free form with the following information: yacht division, charter fee payer details, inclusive full name of the payer, legal address of the payer, contact person information, skipper and co-skipper names and details (if available). 



The regatta is open to the following One Design Classes, offered by Organizing Committee on charter terms:

Division A: Bavaria 41S (2017), spinnaker, 3 cabins, 2 toilets, max 8 sleeping places (up to 10 yachts)

Additional One Design class or a change of quantity of yachts, participating in the existing division could be announced by the Organizing Committee at any time.

One Design Classes will race in their own groups.

Each crew shall send an Application Letter to the Organizing Committee.

At least one crew member (skipper) shall have valid skipper license. Skipper and co-skipper shall be identified in the entry form. In the short upwind-downwind races the registered skipper shall helm the boat at all times while racing, except in an emergency. In the other races the registered skipper or co skipper shall helm the boat at all times while racing, except in an emergency.

Each crew shall present the following at check-in procedure:

  • a valid skipper certificate
  • a valid radio operator license

Certificates performed in languages, other than English or Croatian, shall be followed by their notary translation in English or in Croatian languages.



Each crew shall pay the rental fee for their yacht and additionally organizational and starting fees.

* All boats will be available for accommodation between 5pm of 18 September 2021 and 9am of 25 September, 2021.


The charter fee shall be paid by a wire bank transfer to the account of Bavaria Yachts d.o.o. against the invoice, issued on the basis of an Application Letter sent to the Organizing Committee. The invoice will be issued for 50% or 100% prepayment during a week next to the invoice date and performed by a bank wire transfer. The last date of the payment will be shown on the invoice. The balance payment shall be done before the 1st of July 2021. In case of a late balance amount payment, the first 50% deposit will be not returned and the booking will be cancelled. All corresponding banking charges shall be paid by the payer.


Additionally each crew shall pay the following starting fees:

EUR1200.00 per crew and additionally by EUR170.00 per each crew member or shore team member that will participate in the regatta events (entertainment program, dinners, etc). These fees shall be paid in cash during check-in. Optionally, these fees can be paid by a bank wire transfer against an invoice on a special request basis.  Payment must be sent to the Organizing Committee not later than on the 1st of September, 2021.

The organizational and starting fees will be used to cover different associated costs of the regatta (participating yacht rigs tuning, cleaning of underwater part of the yacht hulls, mooring fees, rent of supporting regatta boats, referee and organizing committees needs, prizes, live entertainments, dinners, etc).


A refundable insurance deposit in the amount of EUR3000.00 or EUR3300.00 (according to a policy of corresponding charter company) shall be paid in cash or by a credit card at a check-in procedure. The refundable deposit value could be reduced by placing of non-refundable deposit, this possibility shall be checked directly with the charter company. Additionally, it will be necessary to pay the final cleaning, translog and a rental fee for a spinnaker according to the tariffs of the charter company (for Bavaria 41S – EUR300), a tourist tax in amount of 70 Croatian Kunas per person, according to the Croatian law. These payments shall be paid directly to the charter company at the check-in procedure.


Originals of the charter papers with crew lists and final charter clients data will be provided during check-in at the offices of the charter company Jedriti svijetom d.o.o.,  (at charter base in marina Pirovac, ) and Pitter Gesellschaft m.b.H. (at charter base in marina Kornati, Biograd-na-Moru, ).



Saturday, 18 September, 2021  – arrival to Marina KORNATI, Biograd-na-Moru, ( or to marina Pirovac  ( ). Check-in procedure is available after 5pm, but could be done earlier upon a special request, made directly to the charter company, upon availability. Organizing Committee can assist to order a transfer from Zagreb or Split airports to the boat destination on request. Transit time from Zagreb / Split will be 3.5 / 1.5 hours to marina Kornati, Biograd-n/M or some 4 / 1 hours  accordingly – to marina Pirovac.

Sunday, 19 September, 2021 

9.00 am - check-in of the yachts is starting.

12.00 pm - skipper briefing to be held at Pitter Gesellschaft m.b.H. office.  All official information reported at the regatta skipper briefings will be places at the official page of the Bavaria Cup regatta group in the Facebook , where the sailing instruction for the first race will be published at this time.

1.00pm – start of the short race №1 will be done nearby Murter island.

After the short race will be finished, a start of the race №2 will be done (appr. 12 n.m.). After finish of the race №2  all yachts shall proceed back to the marina Kornati.

8pm – restaurant: Regatta official opening, presentation of the participating crews, Race №1 and №2 awards, gala-dinner and  live entertainment. Crews shall be dressed in their uniform, the best crew presentations will be awarded on the regatta prize giving ceremony.

Monday, 20 September, 2021 

9.00am - skipper briefing to be held on pier at racing committee boat.

10.00am - start of a short race №3. After a finish of the race №3 – start of the race №4 Murter island – marina Tribunj (approx.12 n.m.).

After the finish - mooring at marina Tribunj , free time. 

Tuesday, 21 September, 2021 

9.00am - skippers briefing at marina Tribunj nearby a referee boat.

10.00am - start of a short race №5 (5nm), then – start of race №6 Tribunj - Sibenik (15 n.m.).

After the finish – mooring at Sibenik city pier, Welcome drink, free time. 

Wednesday, 22 September, 2021 

9.00am - skippers briefing at Sibenik city pier, nearby a referee boat.

10.00am - start of a short race №7 (5nm), then – start of race №8 Sibenik – Biograd-na-Moru (23 n.m.).

After the finish – mooring at marina Kornati, free time. 

Thursday, 23 September, 2021 

9.00am - skipper briefing.

10.00am – start of a short race №9 (5nm), then – start of race №10 nearby Biograd n/M, (approx.12 nm). Finish in front of marina Kornati.

Friday, 24 September, 2021 

9.00am - skipper briefing at the Adriatic Challenge office

10.30am – start of the race №11 nearby Biograd-na-Moru (appr. 10 nm).

After the finish - fueling at the dock station, mooring at the Kornati marina (at the charter company base), check-out procedure.

8pm - Awarding ceremony, gala-dinner, live entertainment program.

Saturday, 25 September, 2021 

Before 9.00am – the crews shall leave their yachts.  


ATTENTION! The event schedule could be changed due to the weather conditions.



Sailing instruction (preliminary version) will be available not later than two weeks before the event. The final version of the Sailing instruction will be available at Facebook regatta page not later than at 12pm on the 19th of September 2021. All yachts will be equipped with routers and the crews shall check their availability and functionality during check-in procedure. Changes to the sailing instructions shall be in writing and posted within the required time on the official notice board or communicated to each boat on the water before the warning signal. Oral changes may be given only on the water, and only if the procedure is stated in the sailing instructions.



The diagrams of the courses for each race will be presented at skipper briefings and at the regatta page of Facebook.



The scoring system is as follows: Low Point System. 5 races are required to be completed to constitute a series.

When fewer than 6 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores.

When 6 or more races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.



The channel 77 will be used for regatta communication.

Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.



Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.

Each crew member shall have medical insurance with extended limit, valid for use at official international sport events.



The winners will be awarded by large and small cups, diplomas and different prizes.

There will be special awards for the best crew uniform, for the best crew presentation, and in other different nominations.

All crews will be awarded by diplomas signed by the regatta referee Mr.Alen KUSTIC (Croatia) and Racing Committee secretary - Mr.Andrey LATINOV (Russia).
