Race resultes

The regatta Bavaria Cup Light 2009, completed on the route Biograd - Kremik - Split - Hvar - Trogir - Sibenik - Biograd (Croatia), was completed. This is the spring, "lite" version of the already traditional regatta Bavaria Cup, which is held there in October every year. The regatta is organized by the companies Bavaria Yachts (Russian Federation) and the Adriatic Challenge (Croatia) under the auspices of the yacht club in Biograd and is the official competition of Croatia.
The most massive was the group of brand new Bavaria 47 Cruiser Sport Edition with spinnakers and triradial sails, grottoes with through lats. There were 9 such boats on the main launches - the crew of the tenth boat, led by Valery Gaidukevich from Odessa, could not arrive for objective reasons, which they reported just a couple of weeks before departure and replacement in such a short time was not found. A pair of Bavaria 46 Cruiser also participated in the regatta, as well as two Bavaria 50 Vision, each of the boats in groups was the twin of the others, so the conditions for success were equal.
On April 30, the first “warm-up” race of the series of two races was launched - not all the crews gathered by April 30, and it was decided to drive a couple of races in a separate competition, such a mini-regatta with their prizes and winners turned out. At the same time they decided to check how the handicap system works in Group B (46 Cruiser + 50 Vision). In
everything else was grown-up - starts, distance, marks, refereeing. The races of the warm-up races are a triangle in the area of Biograd and, the next day, the route race into a strong wind, which ended in Kremik. The main conclusion of the warm-up series is that the handicap does not work, 50 Vision easily beat the 46th even with the recount. It was decided to conduct the main part of the regatta into three groups of monotypes without recalculation - Group A: Bavaria 47 Cruiser, Group B: Bavaria 46 Cruiser, Group C - Bavaria 50 Vision. The organizers had to urgently buy more prizes to the winners in group C. But it became doubly interesting - in fact, groups B and C conducted match flights that follow completely different tactical rules.
According to the participants, the “lightweight” regatta was not like a walk through the picturesque places of Croatia. Perhaps they are right. The fight was played serious.
Here it is worth a few words to say about the composition of the crews. In group A gathered a very strong racers. The two crews included international-class master of sports Andrei Arbuzov and Aleksey Murashkin, and one more crew included honored master of sports Natalya Gaponovich. The heat of the first places in groups A and B were decided only in the last, 7th race and only in group C, it became clear two days before the end of the regatta.
Group B was attended by two strong skippers. Boris Petrovich Lysenko spoke with his large family, consisting of four generations, ranging from the respected 77-year-old Peter Evgenievich Lysenko (Master of Sports of the USSR) to the 5-year-old Katya. The second crew was international - the Croatian experienced skipper Pave Pleslic led the crew, which consisted of a married couple and their 4.5-year-old daughter Ksyusha - this family got on the yacht for the first time in their lives. Nevertheless, these crews went to the finish of the regatta “nostril to nostril” - as a result, only the last race determined the fate of the first place - the first was the crew of the Lysenko family.
Equal crews also participated in group C - one was the master of sports Alexander Markarov, the son Andrey was in the crew (he was the first officer, the watch supervisor, the sailor clewed in one person), the spouse successfully playing the role of otkrenshik with its 50 kg weight, and “Half-yoke” sailor Ira, wife of one of the crew members of the yacht Mojito, is a very fragile girl, but successfully implementing the tacking by etching and throwing the staysail from the winch while turning while Andrei took the sheet on the leeward board. A similar crew was at the second fifty - the most experienced Croatian skipper and local champion Ivan Zelenchich, the first officer - the watch officer - the sailor - Andrei Samsonov, his wife and daughter.
The wind conditions of the regatta were rather serious - as a rule, the races were held with a true wind of about 15 to 20 knots, only the last two races, held in calm conditions, were an exception. The races were mostly tacked, with the exception of the first couple of miles of driving in a racing circle between the first mark and the starting mark.
In the official part of the competition, consisting of 7 races, in Group A, with the advantage of just one point, the crew of Sergey Yeryskin, consisting of Anapa, Moscow and Germany athletes, won him a decent competition from the crews of Andrey Pronin / Andrey Arbuzov and Alexey Murashkin / Anton Danilina, both crews from Moscow. In Group B, in a bitter struggle with a margin of just one point, the crew of Boris Lysenko won, in Group C, the crew of Alexander Markarov. The official results of the regatta with crews are published on the website www.bavaria-yachts.ru.
